Prawn Mayonnaise Sandwich

Cooked and peeled succulent prawns mixed in a mayonnaise dressing on a wholemeal bread.

The prawn mayonnaise sandwich is traditionally made from already cooked and peeled cold-water prawns, thoroughly defrosted and mixed together with real mayonnaise. This simple sandwich includes two basic recipes with the prawns and mayonnaise as the only ingredient. With a good measure of prawns and mayo in a wholemeal bread the prawn mayonnaise sandwich will make a healthy choice and perfect for an easy to make, low cost snack.

Ingredients (Serves 2)


  1. Add 100g of prawns and 4x tablespoons of real mayonnaise into a mixing bowl and stir the mixture together thorough.
  2. Place two slices of wholemeal bread with half of the prawn and mayonnaise mixture and spread on each slice of bread.
  3. Close both sandwiches with the second piece of bread, cover in clingfilm and allow to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes before eating.
Tips & Advice
Add a little seafood sauce to the mayonnaise to create the ultimate prawn mayonnaise sandwich. You can also add lettuce, tomato and cucumber for that extra bite this sandwich may be missing.
